STEP 2:

LEADERSHIP OF THE HEART

LEADERSHIP OF THE HEART

Jesus says "I am the vine; you are the branches.  Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

Leadership for Jesus must stem from a deep relationship with Jesus.  The word abide from the verse above can also mean "lives in" or "Resides in."  Here Jesus is saying in order to fruitful for Him you must first be with Him.  This section is all about you spending time with Jesus through READING THE BIBLE and PRAYER

READING THE BIBLE

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.  It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.  God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work."

2 Tim 3:16 NLT

The Bible is foundational for Christians.  This is the primary way God speaks to us.  This is the primary source to know and grow closer to God.  The verse above tells us that The Bible is what God uses to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.  Our hope for you is that you make time to be in God's Word every day.  Below are resources to help you in your personal reading time.

PRAYER

"Don't worry about anything;  instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.  Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer is how we communicate with God.  God desires to spend quality time with you.  Even though God already knows everything you need, want and feel He still wants you to tell Him.  Below is a prayer template using the acronym ACTS to help you with a frame work for prayer.

A - (Adore) This is where you express how much you love (Adore) God.

C - (Confess) This is where you confess any way you've sinned or been disobedient to God

T - (Thanksgiving)  This is where you tell God what you are thankful for.

S - (Supply)  Here is where you tell God any needs you have.

STEP 3:

Salt team - LEADING OTHER

SALT Team stands for Student Athlete Leadership Team.  A team functions best when individuals are positioned according to their abilities and work together to accomplish their goals.  Your SALT team must do the same.  Do not seek a title like President or Vice-President.  Seek a position that brings out your gifts and talents to honor and glorify Jesus Christ. As believers we are called to work together and help each other through humility and love.
